Today I want to share with you some important updates my team and I have been working on at NPE.
Over the last several years NPE has experienced record growth around the world. We’re celebrating our 10-year anniversary coming up in July. And for six years running now we’ve been listed on the Inc 500/5000 list of fastest growing privately owned USA corporations.
From what started as a small virtual company with a part-time assistant out of my spare bedroom 10 years ago, NPE has now “grown up” to become a managed organization of sixty-five staff (and growing) between our Orlando, London, and Sydney offices with a number of team members working remotely across the globe everywhere from Canada to the Cayman Islands.
The world is becoming more and more connected everyday.
And I’m pleased we’re part of that movement by empowering entrepreneurs through our current ONE WORLD mission.
I often get asked the question “does it get any easier?” My answer is sometimes, but not really. It just gets different, and when you’re intentional about your growth and development, you continue to get better and better. ☺
But it absolutely gets a whole lot more fun and exciting as you attract and hire the right people to your team, and lead everyone to align with your core values, purpose, and mission in their service to your clients, team, and company.
I’m a big believer in the saying that “What got you here won’t get you there.”
And I’ve spent a lot of time thinking and working with my executive team on the important keys to continue leading our company and clients through the next stages of our mission (and beyond).
A couple of months ago, I realized it was time to evolve our core values to be more reflective of the team of leaders we’ve built today. And that we also needed to make it VERY clear to our managers and team how we must lead across the company and to best empower entrepreneurs in the work we do.
It was time to establish much clearer principles and directives for everyone to follow that could be easily understood.
Values and directives aren’t just something you stick on a wall to feel good about yourself in passing.
Either you own and LIVE them everyday… or they don’t mean very much!
Just like a garden that must be cared for and nurtured, I strongly believe that we’ve got to be intentional about shaping our thinking, behavior, work, and lives around defined values and principles that matter to us if we want to continue growing in the right direction.
When you do there is no limit to how far you can grow in business and life!
During the last couple of weeks we began sharing important updates to our values and leadership principles with our team.
And today I want to share them with you.
If you’re a current client, partner, or friend of NPE, I think these will resonate with you.
As we continuing growing and evolving the company, you’re going to see and experience these values and principles represented in the team members that come onboard and continue growing with us in the years ahead.
We believe that “care” is the heart of our success. When we focus on serving one another (both your teammates and our clients), we are always headed in the right direction.
There are many ways to lead. We believe the BEST way to lead is by the personal example you set. Your actions ALWAYS speak louder than your words. Rise up and be a positive example for everyone around you.
We believe great success begins with good strategy and then a solid plan. When faced with adversity, amateurs immediately start taking action to confront the problem. Masters take time to think strategically, make a plan, and then efficiently execute. Focus on becoming a master.
We believe collaboration is essential to our success as an organization. All of us are better than one of us, and success begins by listening with an open mind, accepting feedback from others, and then adding value to the conversations we have with one another.
Action is what moves us forward. We’ve committed to taking action that serves the clients, our team, and the company (aligned in that order). When we do that, we can’t go wrong.
We believe the most important asset we have is the “inner stance” we choose to operate from. And we’re committed to operating from an empowering stance that directs our thinking and behavior towards attacking the challenges in front of us. But action alone isn’t enough. To be successful we must take ownership of driving results through the finish line.
We believe that life and business will always bring us challenges. We are grateful for them. They are both a gift and opportunity for us to grow personally and professionally. While many people shy away from facing adversity in their lives, we welcome and eat it for breakfast.
We believe that all problems can be solved when we work together as a team. And often what we perceive as a “problem” generally isn’t one. It’s merely time for us to rise up and make an important growth decision. Keep it simple and continue moving forward!
We’re going to spend a lot of time working in our lives, so it’s important to define the WAY we work together. We’re committed to working with enthusiasm and passion for our purpose and mission. And we take great pride in producing awesome results.
We believe in letting go of our egos in order to continue growing. When you need help, simply ask for it. And when you see someone struggling who can benefit from your support, give it to them freely.
We’re committed to setting goals and sharing them publicly. When we set goals, we point our lives in a positive growth direction. And when we share our goals with others, we create accountability for our actions and inspire others to grow too. That’s powerful.
We believe in humility. Big goals are never achieved on your own. It’s takes a lot of support from a big team of people to get to the top of any mountain in life. So take time to give and share credit with others every time you win.
There are lots of ways to have fun. And many people are satisfied with “just getting by” in their life and work. To them losing is “ok” as long as you’re having fun along the way. We’re not like those people. We’re committed to having fun by winning.

We believe that when you follow these core value directives and leadership principles to make positive growth decisions for yourself, your team, your clients, and the company, you’re always headed in the right direction.
